Phoenix? Ningbo: Mr. Zhang, you have been transformed from a spare parts and plastics company to a whole pump. At that time, were you impulsive? Or based on an accurate judgment of the market outlook?

Zhang Junbo: Junhe has done many years of accessories for different companies, but always feels that the accessories are taken by the nose and for others. We always wanted to be our own independent products, so when we had the opportunity to make our own products, we managed to enter the field of pumps, which is a product that can be sold separately in the market.

Phoenix? Ningbo: In the production and sales of the pump industry, Junhe is already the “invisible boss” of the industry. Why should we continue to carry out technological transformation?

Zhang Junbo: The competition in the market is very intense. We and our peers have been working hard, so the quality of products will get better and better, and the price will be lower and lower, which will inevitably push enterprises to improve efficiency and reduce costs. Therefore, “machine substitution”, “process reengineering”, etc. are a continuous work for the company.

Phoenix? Ningbo: How much does Junhe invest in technological transformation each year?

Zhang Junbo: In previous years, it was around 10 million a year. This year's investment is particularly large, including expansion of re-production, plant reconstruction, new equipment, equipment upgrades, etc., more than 70 million.

Phoenix? Ningbo: The implementation of the “machine substitution” strategy of Junhe Pump Industry started from which year? In the process of “substitution of machines”, what aspects of the company have been promoted?

Zhang Junbo: Since 2006, it has been implemented. At that time, the efficiency of the assembly line was very low, and dozens of workers were needed on one assembly line. When a batch of products was produced, there was also a great waste. Later, we developed “small-scale production” ourselves. At present, there are 4 groups of assembly lines and more than 20 assembly lines working at the same time, which is suitable for the production requirements of multi-variety and small batch products. The competition between the pipelines also drives the quality of the products to be better and better, and the efficiency is getting higher and higher. We will also continue to work on "machine substitution".

Phoenix? Ningbo: What changes have occurred in the quality of the company? What are the benefits?

Zhang Junbo: The satisfaction of employees has increased. Using machines to produce, some jobs are replaced by machines, and the proportion of employees' simple physical labor has dropped a lot. After the efficiency is improved, the income of employees will increase accordingly.

The bigger gain is that we have been recognized by a large number of customers. Customers are more assured of the company's products because of the stability of the process. This is our greatest achievement.

Phoenix? Ningbo: Your company has gone through several stages of development. Please talk about the transformation and upgrading of the company since its inception!

Zhang Junbo: Our company can be traced back to 30 years ago and was founded by my father. We first made tourist souvenirs. Later, due to the sluggish souvenir market, the company experienced its first transformation in 1989 and began to make auto parts and daily necessities. At that time, what the market needed, what we did. Since the beginning of 1999, we have focused on pumps and slowly separated all other previous businesses. After 2003, we felt that the final assembly of the pump alone was not enough. The main components also needed to be grasped by ourselves, so we invested in the motor factory, the power line factory, the aluminum pressure line factory... It is equivalent to all the pumps. The main components are supplied by our wholly-owned subsidiaries and form a complete supply chain. To build it yourself, there will be a higher quality control and more reasonable cost control. After the supply chain was slowly completed, the Junhe headquarters seemed to be a locomotive, pulling the subsidiary behind it. But sometimes this burden is relatively heavy, and now we require the subsidiary to have a separate profitability to accelerate the development of the entire company.

Zhang Junbo: We now have different levels of cooperation with many customers, and we feel that the opportunities given by the market are very large. Many branded companies have not used pumps before, but they also want to enter the pump industry by using the influence of the brand.
